Pricing & offers
Are there any fees?
No. GoldVara deducts no refining, testing, or processing fees. The published bracket rates are the payout, shown line by line on an itemized offer.
How do the weight brackets work?
Your first 10 grams pay the Golden rate, grams 11–30 pay the Premium rate, grams 31–60 pay the Elite rate, and every gram above 60 pays our top Reserve rate. Each gram keeps its bracket's rate, so adding weight never lowers what you've already earned — your whole package settles at one blended rate that only goes up. Gold of every karat — 9k through 24k — and platinum count together as one total.
What about gemstones in my jewelry?
Small stones generally stay in place — their weight is deducted and noted on your offer. Larger diamonds are assessed individually and graded with the GIA.
Do you price match?
Yes. GoldVara matches any written offer, whether from a national online buyer, a local jewelry store, or a pawn shop (up to 90% of the day's market price), or returns your items at our expense. You can send the competing quote before or after our offer. Excludes coins, bars, and bullion.
Shipping & security
Is my shipment insured?
Yes. Every shipment is insured door to door by Jewelers Mutual, with coverage sized kit-by-kit to what you are sending, up to $100,000. Tell us roughly what is in your kit and the insurance is set to match.
Can I see my items being opened?
Every unboxing is filmed. Your footage is available on request — just ask.
Payment & policies
How fast do I get paid?
Within 1 business day of accepting your offer — often sooner — by Zelle, ACH, or check. Most sellers finish the whole process in 4–7 business days.
What if I decline the offer?
Your items are returned free of charge, fully insured. No fees, no pressure, no questions asked.
What do I need to sell?
A valid, unexpired government photo ID (a driver's license works). Expired IDs can't be accepted.
Can my items be melted instead of resold?
Yes — tell us you'd like your items melted rather than resold and we'll honor it.
